About

The Renal SpR Club represents trainees in Adult and Paediatric Nephrology from the UK and Ireland. We hold two meetings each year, usually in February and October, with presentations from National and International speakers within the speciality, generally themed around a particular issue in Nephrology, e.g. Transplantation, Dialysis. Also included are talks from SpRs with a particular interest, or who wish to present their research. We also try to arrange meetings pertaining to areas of the curriculum that are more difficult to cover locally, e.g. management. The Saturday evening includes a dinner, a very non-nephrological quiz, and a chance to socialise with one’s peers.

We have a committee formed of approximately 10 Regional representatives from around the UK and Ireland, who meet to decide the program for each meeting, and also represent the SpR body at a National level; on the RA Executive Committee, the Speciality Advisory Committee of the Royal College, etc. We are affiliated to the Renal Association, and encourage trainees to become members of this body. The SpR Club itself has no set membership list – it simply consists of whoever attends each meeting. Details of each meeting (together with contact details) are posted on this website in advance, and also circulated to trainees via regional (e-)mailing lists.
